In a collaboration with custom knifemaker and designer Jesper Voxnaes, the Urban EDC F5.5 is a sailor’s knife with tons of attention to detail, high-end materials, and a high level of functionality. Based on the beloved Vox F5, the F5.5 is a compact version of its older cousin, with the same minimalistic design, but with details to make it stand out.

Coming with a robust 4mm thick Vox-style modified sheepsfoot blade, this guy has a flat-ground cutting edge meant for anything from slicing to chopping to everything in between. Piercing isn’t an issue either, as the Vox-take on the sheepsfoot blade gives you a safe point for doing such. Carbon fiber scales over titanium liners are designed to perfection, having contouring in all the right places, making this guy just feel right in-hand.

As with many of Jesper Voxnaes’ designs, the F5.5 has a generous finger choil, paired with jimping on the spine of the blade, which allows you to choke up a bit on the knife without sacrificing any comfort or leverage. An open-backed design, tip-up titanium pocket clip and lanyard hole make the Urban EDC / Voxnaes F5.5 an ideal choice for everyday carry. The blade steel on this knife is the fantastic and rugged Bohler ELMAX stainless steel.

Condition-wise, the only thing keeping this knife from being classified as like-to-brand new is a few small blemishes on the clip-side of the blade. There is one nick near the spine of the blade that looks like a smudge, but doesn’t clean off. There is another smaller spot next to it that appears to be a little scratch or nick. Both only appear in certain direct light. Other than these, everything else about this knife screams new. There are no blemishes on the handle scales or the pocket clip, the action is smooth and the lock-up is tight. This knife comes with its original zip-pouch, product card, and cardboard box. The box does have some random blue marks on the top, as shown in the pictures.
