Designed by Ferrum Forge, produced by Massdrop, and manufactured in China by WE Knife, the Buc is yet another impressive tool crafted by the best mind at all three companies. The result is a unique and reliable everyday carry folder with tons of design cues to make it feel so great in-hand. From machined titanium handle scales with impeccable contouring, to an enlarged finger choil for easy sharpening and choking up, so much went into making this knife the EDC folder it is. Easily-flickable with both the butter-smooth flipper tab and a meticulously placed finger hole, the blade on the Buc flies open with ease, and an easy-to-use titanium frame lock ties it together as an ideal one-handed user pocket knife. Onto the specifications of this specific model we have in stock, this guy is Serialized ML 0027 and has a SKU of MDX-21480-8. The titanium frame lock handle has been given a matte blue finish, giving it some personality while having a rugged and washed look. The face-side scale has been given a machining pattern that allows for extra grip and offers some extra flair. The blade is where this knife really makes its name, as the shape is a modified sheepsfoot with a bit of reverse tanto mixed in. This gives you an uber-slicey and choppable blade with tons of piercing potential. The blade is finished satin and comes made of CPM-S35VN stainless steel. The pocket clip is a reversible tip-up titanium with what looks like a natural TI finish.

When it comes to the condition of this knife, it certainly has been used a handful of times throughout its life. The blade edge itself looks great, and after a paper-test I would rate the sharpness at a 7/10. However, on the reverse side of the blade, there are a couple of scratches on the bevel of the blade that run from the grind up for about a centimeter. It’s likely that the previous owner was whittling of some sort and the blade flat got a bit marked up. Other than that, the blade is in incredible shape.

The handle has a couple of blemishes here and there, specifically one small scratch near the butt on the clip-side. Also, there looks to be a pocket clip snail trail above where the clip touches the handle now. It’s possible it had a longer clip attached to it previously that resulted in a bit of wear. Other than this, the face-side machining has a slight bit of build up, but everything else looks to be in great condition. The pocket clip has no noticeable blemishes and the action is super smooth with a tight lock-up. This knife comes with its original box and zip-pouch, but no plastic baggie or microfiber cloth. The box has a slice in down the middle for some reason, as shown in the pictures.
