Another folder designed by Ferrum Forge, produced by Massdrop, and manufactured in China by WE Knife, the Crux is a seemingly standard everyday carry folder with several design cues that make it superior to many other go-to knives on the market. From an enlarged finger choil to a semi-open backed design, to incredible flipper tab action, the Crux is a solid hard-use folder with tons of potential. This guy may not seem very unique at first glance, but once you get it in-hand, you’ll understand why we consider the Crux such a great choice for daily carry.

This model of the Drop Crux, SKU MDX-19710-6, has been serialized JL0056, and comes with a blue finished titanium handle frame. The face-side scale has been given a US-flag-like machining, which offers extra grip and personality. The blade is in a standard drop point style, is finished satin, and comes made of CPM-S35VN stainless steel. The pocket clip is a right-handed tip-up carry, made of titanium and finished blue to match the handle.

This knife is extremely close to being considered brand new, but there are a few mentionable blemishes. The main imperfection that stands out is a blemish/stain on the flat-bevel on the face-side of the blade. It’s a little mark that I tried to get out, but it’s being stubborn. I assume that this is a permanent stain, but I am unsure what it would have came from. Other than that, the blade is in pristine shape, seemingly having been unused by its original owner.

The handle, other than a little bit of build-up within the machining on the face-side, is also in near perfect condition, with no scratches or blemishes noticeable. The pocket clip also has no obvious scratches. The opening action on this Crux we have is certainly impressive, as the flipper tab rockets your blade to an open position. The lock-up is also super-strong, as it takes a little bit of an extra push left to close your blade up. This knife comes with its original packaging, including box, zip pouch, plastic baggie, and microfiber cloth.
