The Smooth Criminal strays from the typical heavy-duty titanium frame lock folders that Medford has become known best for, but these guys lack nothing in the department of practical everyday carry hard-use. Super fidgety and simple to use, the jimped flipper tab allows you to easily flick open your 3” hollow ground blade. A machined plunge button lock releases your blade smoothly into a closed position. The aluminum handle on these guys are machined to perfection, with stepping in all the right places, giving you spots for your fingers to rest during use. Being open-backed, and coming with both a lanyard hole and tip-up pocket clip, the Smooth Criminal makes for an ideal EDC pocket knife.

The tactical model of the Smooth Criminal, this guy comes all-blacked out other than its stainless steel plunge lock. The drop point blade, made with CPM-S35VN stainless steel, has been given a black PVD coating. The handle is anodized black while the pocket clip and hardware are all also coated black to match.

Condition-wise, this knife is in very close to like-new shape. The only things that keep it from such are a couple of small nicks on the spine of the handle and possibly a slight bit of wear around the edges of the pocket clip. Other than that, the edge and blade itself look to be unused or possibly very lightly used if anything. There are no visible nicks or scratches on the blade at all.

When it comes to the action, there is certainly some room for this knife to be worked in. It doesn’t quite have drop-shut action, and it takes a good flick to flip the blade all the way open. This leads me to believe that it hasn’t even been operated much. It comes with all of its original packaging, including black Medford zip-pouch, box, warranty card, one small patch and two small stickers, cardboard box, and Certificate of Creation, with a DOB of June 03, 2022.
