Spyderco | Brend/Pirela Mamba C196CFTIP Pre-Owned - Two-Toned CPM-S30V Upswept Blade & Titanium Handle w/ Twill Carbon Fiber Scales - Ti Liner Lock w/ Flipper & Round Thumb Hole | Made in Taiwan
The Spyderco Mamba, from the minds of Walter Brend & Joel Pirela, is a beefy folder with a unique profile that makes a great collection piece or an incredible everyday carry if you're feeling up to it. Everything about this signature knife is unique and visually appealing.
The blade, made of CPM-S30V stainless steel, is given an awesome two-toned finish. The bevels are given a black titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, while the flats are finished satin, meaning that the two contrast each other and really shine together in certain lightings. In an awe-inspiring upswept shape, this blade really stands out amongst the crowd.
The twill carbon fiber handle scales are black and gray, protecting thick skeletonized titanium liners that act as this guys liner lock. Overall, this big guy is surprisingly lightweight due to its meticulous design. For incredible comfort in-hand, the handles are contoured in multiple places and given a large finger groove, while the flipper tab gives you something to choke up on.
Operated on ball bearing washers with an integral jimped flipper tab, this guy opens smoothly and satisfyingly. A signature Round Thumb Hole gives you another option for deployment and makes it super Spydie-flick-able. The Mamba comes with a custom-designed tip-up right-handed pocket clip.
The condition of this pre-owned Spyderco Mamba that we have in stock is great, but maybe not absolutely perfect. The ONLY visible blemishes are one small nick in the reverse-side bevel of the blade, about 80% up from the sharpening choil, near the top of the bevel, and one small nick and one small scratch on the show-side bevel. All three of these spots are VERY hard to see and only appear in specific lighting, but I wanted you all to know about them since it is such a sought-after piece.
Operation-wise, this guy opens like a large knife. It's smooth, but it takes a bit of oomph in deployment to get the blade all the way open. It likely would break in a bit after some more fidgeting, as it feels and looks as though it's hardly ever been touched. This Mamba that we have comes with its original felt-lined zip pouch, but it does not have the SKU/Barcode card attached to it.
