If you use knives in or around salt water, you likely know about Spydercos Salt Series of folders. All of the knives in this line are given high-grade materials that are meant to withstand even the harshest of conditions. From their widely-used Fiberglass-Reinforced Nylon handle scales which are beloved for being extremely lightweight and durable, to titanium pocket clips, to an array of highly corrosion-resistant stainless steels, the Spyderco Salt series boasts a number of incredible fisherman-friendly folders.

The original Salt knife, this Spyderco C88SYL Salt I takes after the legendary Delica in design cues, but brings all of the aforementioned Salt knife characteristics to the table. As with many Salt-line knives, this guy has a bright yellow died FRN handle, making it harder to lose around the waterways. Additionally, if you do drop it in the water, the brightness of the handle gives you a chance at seeing where its at in the water before its too late. Onto the real nitty gritty, this model comes with a H-1 stainless steel blade with full serrations. Finished satin with a flat/saber grind, the blade on this knife is super versatile and is bound to get you through anything without a spot of corrosion. As with other Salt-series knives, this guy has a reversible black titanium pocket clip in the tip-up position.

When it comes to the condition of this knife, the edge itself doesn’t look to be touched. The handle scales and pocket clip, however, do have a little bit of wear here and there, leading me to believe that this knife was carried but used sparingly if at all by its previous owner. The blade does have a few marks on the clip-side on the top flat bevel, but I am not sure what this would have resulted from. Other than that, a few scuffs on a couple of the edges of the handle, and a bit of wear around the pocket clip, this knife is in ready-to-use condition with all the capabilities that it had coming out of the factory. The opening action is smooth and the knife closes up easily, but not drop-shut, meaning it has some to be worked in. This knife DOES come with its original box and plastic bubble baggie. I must have forgotten to snap a picture of the box, but will update with one ASAP.
