PLEASE READ: I wanted to highlight one detail about this pre-owned Zieba S1 in particular. When the blade is in an unlocked position (not closed-up, and not completely open in a ready-to-use position), there is a very audible rattling noise when shaking the knife. I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to find out exactly where this sound is coming from, and believe it is either one of two things, but I could be completely wrong. One, could be something with the space between the ball bearings and the knife, or two; the detent ball may be the culprit, rattling a bit when the not in use. However, these really are just my own assumptions and I could be completely wrong. If you have any other insights or experience with this, please let me know. Thank you!

This American made Model S1 out of Zieba Knives is a great piece to either add to your collection or your everyday carry. Numbered #008, this specific knife that we have at The Two Loons is certainly pre-owned, has a few blemishes, and comes with no box. We have included a lined zip-pouch for protection, but it is definitely nothing spectacular. 

Condition-wise, this guy does appear to have its factory edge with no nicks or visible flaws. In fact, the entire blade looks to be in brand new condition. The handle however does have a couple of small nicks primarily on the face-side, and a small scratch near the lanyard hole on the clip-side. These aren't really that noticeable until looking closely in good lighting, but they are there. I had trouble getting any of these to show up in the lightbox pictures, but they show up a bit better in the video. The only other signs of wear that I could find are a couple of straight scratches across the pocket clip. As mentioned in the first paragraph, there is a rattling noise when the knife is in an unlocked position. 

Now onto the specifics of this knife. Made in Brooklyn, NY, this guy is a strong and super well-designed titanium frame lock folder with a nearly 3.7" recurve blade made with CPM S35VN stainless steel. The blade itself is gorgeous, being stonewashed and having a nice swedge running from a sizeable section of jimping operating as a place to choke up on your blade with your thumb. 

Operating on ball bearings with a nice jimped flipper tab, the S1 opens incredibly smoothly, and when open, the same flip tab acts as a sizeable finger guard where you can put your index for more leverage. The full titanium handle has been given a dark bronze finish, along with the reversible tip-down pocket clip and backspacer. It is fairly thick, while still being lightweight and having contouring in all the right places, making it one of the most comfortable in-hand knives I have ever come across. Originally, these guys came with a Zieba Knives Skull lanyard bead, but it was lost along the way and this knife does NOT include said bead unfortunately.
